Simple Sundries is working hard to provide affordable, everyday lifecare products to our community without creating plastic waste. However, this little neighborhood store can’t carry everything and even when trying your hardest, you end up having to buy some plastic containers because you need the product inside! Corporations are not changing their packaging fast enough. We need better solutions.
That’s why simple Sundries offers reuse services to our paying members. It’s similar to having your recycling picked up, but instead of chipping up the plastic, we clean, sanitize and reuse that plastic in a meaningful way. Some of it gets refilled, relabeled and sold in our store. Some of it gets reimagined and sold to refill stores all over the world. Some of it gets refilled, relabeled and donated to local organizations who give them out to local families at no cost to them.

Lotion and hand soap (among other things) are often sold in pump-lid bottles. Simple Sundries takes these bottles for reuse. Bottles must be empty and 32 ounces or less.
We do not accept Foaming Pump Lids.
When you are done reusing your spray bottle or have no use for it, give it to Simple Sundries!
Please note that sprayers must work. We are resuing, not recycling!
Plastic squeeze bottles contain a wide array of products. Soap, mustard, ketchup, salad dressing, sunscreen. Many of these plastic bottles are considered single use plastic, but not to us! Bottles must be empty, clean and 32 ounces or less.
We also make our own pump lids for mason jars. So we will take pumps without bottles. We do not, however, take plastic bottles without lids.
Kombucha bottles with a screw top lid are preferred, but we take all empty kombucha bottles for reuse.
Olive oils, fancy sodas, oils and booze are all products that come in these bottles. These bottles do not need to have lids.
We will take regular mouth mason jars with or without a lid. But not wide mouth jars. Not sure of the lid size? Bring them anyway.
These lids are very common on jars of peanut butter, mayonnaise and more! We will also take the plastic container attached to the lids if they are clean.
These lids can also be found on nutritional yeast and spices. We will also take the plastic containers connected to them.
At our Refill Window, we will refill any kids bottle of bubbles for free! But many kids need a new one to start with.
We take plastic measuring scoops of all shapes & sizes for reuse
We take empty essential oil bottles up to 2fl oz. Bottles must have either dropper lids or the dropper inserts with lids.
Old pieces of candles. Jars with old candle wax stuck in them. Crayons with or without paper
Bags should not have tears and be clean. With or without handles is fine!
Such as baby food jars and spice jars! Lids preferred, but not required..
Jars over 6 oz must be regular mason jars or have 2.75" lid
Until we get a larger space, we cannot offer refills of vinegar. However, we will take your empty gallons and reuse them!
Protein powders, creams and pet vitamins are examples of the many products we buy in these reusable plastic jars.
Jars must have a screw top lid and have a removable label.

No. Anyone can shop at the store! Members get free delivery and our delivery zone is wider for those with memberships. But if you live in our general delivery zone, or our Corvallis Delivery Zone you can just pay the delivery fee as a non-member. If you do not live in our general delivery zone and are not a member, you can shop in-person in our store open Sundays.
It's really simple! Just place an order in our online store and we'll pick up your items when we deliver your order.
Members can also drop off items at our store during operating hours only. Purchase from the store required for drop off.
Drop off is limited to one grocery bag full of items per visit. Delivery pick up is also limited to one grocery bag of contributions per order.
Please don't do this. Membership is about commitment to a waste free community. We are not a one-time drop off service and don't have the capacity to be that.
No. We are humans cleaning out these containers and none of us feel good about being an excuse for people to keep buying new plastic. We are here to fight its production. We need to see a commitment on your end to not purchasing new plastic as much as possible. If you just want us to reuse your garbage for you, apologies, but this is not right for you. However, we'd be happy to give you tips on reusing that garbage yourself!
Nope! Just vinegar or gallons that you got from us
All the refill stores in town are great! And the communal glass jar reuse they use is a nice way to keep glass in circulation. But our efforts require much more labor because we mainly concentrate on ways to reuse plastic, something other refill stores don't do. Oftentimes the whole reason we collect glass is as a means for reusing unrecyclable plastic such as pumps or sprayers.
Membership is best for people who do a lot of shopping at Simple Sundries but find there are some items they need to purchase in plastic and would like to use that plastic to help someone else not have to buy new plastic..
We ask that your bottles be empty and rinsed out. You do not have to remove the labels.
On that note, we can not accept "branded bottles" where the printing is directly on the bottle and not a removable label.
